Step 7 - Perform Checks

The following list of things need to be checked after all of the previous steps have been completed.

1. Check Projects Introduction and Jars page

• Navigate to caGridxx:caGrid Projects Introduction
• Check that the projects are correct.
• Click on the Jars link (caGridxx:caGrid x.x Jars)
• Check that the latest version is referenced.

2. Check links to javadocs

All core project documentation pages have a "Link to javadoc". The link should have been updated in the preparation stages when documentation was updated. Given that the javadocs were placed on software.cagrid.org following the same format as previous version and that all the links to javadocs were updated according to the same format, these links should work.

Verify that the work by navigating to a project documentation page for the new version and clicking on the link.

For example, navigate to dorianxx:Documentation. Click on the "Link to javadocs" and verify that it takes you to the correct javadocs on software.cagrid.org.

3. Check macros

The following macros need to be checked to ensure that they are working properly and using the correct links:

• {cagrid-x.x-installer-link}
• {cagrid-x.x-source-link}
• {gaarsdui-x.x-download-link}
• {cagrid-1.4-release-notes}
• {syncgts-1.4-download-link}

A good page to check the {cagrid-x.x-installer-link}, {cagrid-x.x-source-link}, {gaarsdui-x.x-download-link}, and {syncgts-1.4-download-link} macros is the Downloads page for the GTS space (which should be including the GTS downloads for the latest release).

If the links are broken or pointing to the wrong location, find out the correct location and update the macro by navigating to Edit --> Administration --> Site Administration and then click on User Macros from the panel on the left. Find the macro that needs to be updated and click Edit. Insert the correct link location.

4. Check the Subversion Source Code

• Navigate to downloads:Subversion Source Code x.x
• Perform an subversion checkout using the location that is listed in the release stream.
• Verify that the checkout was successful.

If the checkout was not successful, obtain the correct location and update the page.

Congratulations! Once these checks are made, you have successfully updated the cagrid.org site for the new release of caGrid. It's always good to go though a few pages and click through links to make sure everything is in order. The landing pages, documentation space, and downloads are a good place to start. And if anything is accidentally missed, it can always be fixed.
