Checking out code directly from Subversion ensures that you have a version of caGrid that includes the latest patches for that caGrid release.
|Checking out using the release tags as indicated in the following instructions will get you a stable release supported by the caGrid Knowledge Center. For example, checking out from CVS using the "caGrid 1.4 Release Stream" instructions below gets you the official 1.4 release with the latest patches applied. This should not be confused with checking out the "Development Stream" below (latest integration version, a.k.a. nightly snapshot), which is NOT supported by the caGrid Knowledge Center, but is made available for your use if you are part of core caGrid development team.|
On Linux systems, use the commands shown below to check out from the SVN repository.
The caGrid 1.4 release stream provides access to the official source code repository for caGrid 1.4. On Windows systems, we recommend the following 3rd party tool as a GUI front-end to subversion to check out a caGrid release: http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org The command line version of subversion can be obtained from http://subversion.apache.org/source-code.html
|caGrid 1.0 is no longer supported, per the caGrid deprecation policy which explains we support the most recent release and up to two versions prior.|
